Educating the Next Generation: Integrating Radiation Safety and Nuclear Medicine

Bring your questions! Shawn Pickett, the Practice Director for Landauer Radiation Safety Support Services, will be sitting down with Lucas Gross from University of Findlay. As RSO, Director of both the Nuclear Medicine Institute and Medical Laboratory Science, as well as an instructor, Lucas brings a unique perspective to how students are prepared for careers in nuclear medicine. He and Shawn will discuss a variety of topics related to integrating radiation safety and nuclear medicine in the classroom.

Some of the conversation will cover the educational frameworks and curricular developments that prepare students for the dynamic field of nuclear medicine, the innovative teaching methods and creative strategies used to engage students and enhance their understanding of radiation safety principles in nuclear medicine, as well as strategies for preparing students for the future, including adapting to evolving treatment protocols, regulatory landscapes, and the integration of theranostics into clinical practice.
